This policy is not suitable for everyone, for example those who have sufficient savings to tide them over during short periods of unemployment or those with generous company benefits. - Ensure you are a permanent resident in the UK and have been working for at least 6 months prior to application but you are allowed to have 2 weeks unpaid during that time if, for example, you changed employment.

- To claim for unemployment you must be in receipt of Jobseekers Allowance from the JobCentrePlus.
- To claim for accident or sickness you must be in receipt of Statutory Sick Pay or Short Term Incapacity Benefit. See "Effect on state benefits" link to the left.
- If you are transferring from another payment protection policy ensure there are no penalty clauses for cancelling, wait until you receive your policy schedule from us before you do. - Your premiums do not increase for the life of the policy. The premium at the time you take out your policy will remain at that price for the life of the policy, even if you have moved several age bands in the meantime. If you wish to increase your benefit cover at a later date, if for instance your mortgage, and you have moved age bands, the increased benefit amount only will be charged at the new age band premium.

For your peace of mind
You may cancel the policy within 30 days from receipt of your Policy Schedule and all monies will be refunded. After that you may cancel with one months notice without penalty but no payments already made will be refunded.
