Lower prices: We achieve this by taking lower commissions and operating exclusively on the internet which minimises our costs. Our rates can be 5 times cheaper than a lender's own rates without reducing the quality of the cover for the consumer.
Higher thresholds: You can cover up to 75% of your net monthly income up to a maximum monthly benefit of £1500. Most competitors offer considerably smaller amounts e.g. only up to £1000 per month.
More & exclusive options: We are the only online provider offering 3 or 6 months pay out periods as well as the standard 12 months. As 63% of workers return to work within 3-6 months, consumers only pay for the cover they're likely to need. We also offer the widest cover options i.e. Combined ASU, Accident & sickness only or Unemployment only, an option that is rarely offered elsewhere.
Age banded premiums: This means our youngest customers pay least. The premium will not increase according to age for the life of the policy and the policy can remain in force until retirement age or until you cancel it.
Back to Day 1 cover: This means that you can make an income protection insurance claim after just 30 or more consecutive days of not working through accident, sickness or unemployment. The income protection insurance claim will then be backdated to the first day of the claim.
Extra exclusive features:
1) Return to work benefits provide special help for those who return
to work part time on a lower salary following an incapacity claim.
2) Temporary return to work scheme provides for those who wish to suspend
their benefit payments to take temporary work.
Exclusions light: No medicals are required to take the policy and we do not exclude dangerous occupations or dangerous pursuits. Individual habits e.g. smoking, do not affect premiums or eligibility and we do not exclude backache if supported by medical evidence.
